
The village of Mortehan and its cimetery along the river
Mortehan is a nice village long the Semois, with forests around it. It is required to visit the exceptional cemetery, the ancient houses and some opther nature places that are listed.Mortehan is located 5 km south-west from Bertrix and 8 km east from Bouillon. The Semois river runs alongside it to the West; this river has an ancient branch there, at the place called "La Noue". This branch has been listed by the Walloon Region.
The heart of the village is unmistakable with the saint-Hubert church, several typical buildings made in schist-stone and the listed old cemetery that leads its visitors in another world with its schist-gravestones on the 16th and 17th centuries.
In this area of the Semois river, we can see here and there the last "cornue" roofs made with clay and of slate scraps.
Camping places, kayaks, gîtes and bed-and-breakfast are there in one of the most beautiful areas of the Semois where fishermen like meeting
