The village of Cugnon
Cugnon, on the right bank of the Semois is located a few bounces away from Mortehan. Both are bathed by this languorous river. Cugnon is a little countryside-village alongside the river. The hamlet invites to devote yourself cheerfully to fishing and to idleness, to walking and to kayak in the serenity an always beatiful and greeting nature gives.
Two roads lead to Cugnon. The most important comes from Mortehan and goes towards Auby. It crosse sthe village and the Semois at the "Gué la tour" near the rue de la Forteresse street.
It would be a pity going to Cugnon without seeing the quadrilateral castle built with schist-slabs, the Saint-Rémi church built in 1780, the ancient town hall, ancient listed farms from the 18th century, the bridge, the mill the hôtel des roches.
In this area of the Semois valley, you can see here and there the last retort-roofs, made with clay and slate-scraps
