Vierre lake and dam in Suxy

A dream for nature lovers and/or anglers!The hydro-electric dam on Vierre lake, which covers an area of 25 hectares, is a concrete structure of 134 metres in length and a maximum 12 metres in height. The artificial lake contains a total 1.5 million cubic metres of water with a maximum depth of 9 metres. Its penstock links the Vierre, with the dam at Suxy, to a power plant by the Semois in Chiny. Fishing is allowed, particularly carp fishing, but also trout, pike, tench, roach and perch (fishing permits can be purchased at Chiny tourist office). The Vierre then naturally flows into the Semois in Les Bulles.
