The « Gros Cron » - Lahage

An impressive 20 meters high steep rock, from which a small stream flows… This is what you will discover in the village of Lahage! This rocky hollock is formed by many layers of “cron”, a spongy grey rock formed during centuries by a spring with petrifying properties. In Roman times, the hollow at the foot of the rock sheltered a hermitage. The site of the “Crânière” is classified by the Monuments & Sites Commission. Caution! Climbing the cron would destroy it, touch it only with your eyes…
